Description
A collection of mid-20th century gold-toned vanity items comprising a three-piece set and an individual hand mirror. The three-piece coordinating set includes a hand mirror, a hairbrush, and a comb, each decorated in a Rococo style with ornate scrolling metalwork. The mirror and brush feature cream-colored textured panels under clear protective covers, centered with foliate medallions and carved green oval stones. The mirror face of the large hand mirror bears a black and gold rectangular label reading 24 K GOLD FINISH. The matching hairbrush features clear plastic bristles and a plastic bed marked with impressed characters reading MADE IN U.S.A. and PRO-PHY-LAC-TIC. The accompanying comb has a scrolled gold-toned metal spine and clear plastic teeth marked MADE IN U.S.A. The collection also includes a separate hand mirror featuring a tapered, fluted handle and a champagne-colored back panel decorated with enameled white and pink flowers on a branch. The mirror face of this piece bears a blue and gold rectangular label reading Matson FIFTH AVENUE.
