Description
An American pressed glass store counter display jar featuring a squat, rounded football-shaped body set on a textured square base. The clear glass exhibits a subtle aquamarine tint. The jar is embossed on two sides with the brand name PLANTERS in block letters above a curved banner containing the words SALTED PEANUTS. The matching lid is embossed with the name PLANTERS twice and is topped with a central raised finial molded in the form of a peanut. The underside of the base features an impressed perimeter inscription reading MADE IN U.S.A. around a textured square foot. The glass construction shows characteristic period manufacturing traits including visible mold seams and occasional small trapped air bubbles. As seen against a ruler, the jar measures approximately 7.5 inches at its widest point and 8 inches in height to the top of the finial. Across the widest point: 7.5 inches Height: 8 inches.
