Description
An assortment of mid-century glass tumblers featuring screen-printed character illustrations in multi-colored enamels. The collection includes various subjects from the film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, specifically depicting the title character alongside individual dwarfs labeled SNEEZY, DOPEY, HAPPY, and GRUMPY. These pieces feature a printed mark reading SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS and a circular copyright symbol with the initials W.D. Other Walt Disney subjects include a Mickey Mouse tumbler with a corresponding W.D. mark and a Donald Duck tumbler featuring the character name in a red banner. A multi-colored glass depicts a scene labeled Disney’s CINDERELLA showing the title character and Prince Charming. The group further contains tumblers featuring comic strip characters including Lonesome Polecat and Almoos, both bearing a circular copyright mark with the initials UFS, and a tumbler labeled Unwashable Jones. Multiple glasses commemorate Davy Crockett, with one featuring a red line-drawing illustration and another a multi-colored scene of figures in a canoe with the dates 1786 – 1836. The collection is rounded out by a blue-printed nursery rhyme glass depicting a character and a lamb with text from Mary had a little lamb and a novelty glass printed with the rules and scoring symbols for the card game Canasta.
