Lot 783:
Description
A large wireframe model of a high wing monoplane, constructed entirely from hand-formed metal wire. The skeletal design represents a light aircraft stylistically reminiscent of a Piper J-3 Cub or Taylorcraft. The model features a lattice-work fuselage, detailed wing and tail surface ribbing, and fixed landing gear with wire-spoke wheels. A two-blade wireframe propeller is mounted at the nose. The construction consists of thin gauge steel or iron wire with a dark, aged finish. No maker marks, signatures, labels, or country of origin marks are visible on the item.
