Description
A floor-standing ashtray constructed of brushed aluminum in a Mid-Century Modern Space Age design. The piece features a large hemispherical bowl top with a flat rim and a recessed circular ashtray well. The well contains a mechanical trapdoor insert consisting of a split circular plate and two cigarette rests. A slender cylindrical shaft supports the top and terminates in a weighted conical tulip-style pedestal base. Vertically oriented stamped characters are present on the upper section of the central pole, however, they are not legible as a name or specific maker. No other maker marks or country-of-origin labels are visible.
