Description
A two-piece clear pressed glass set featuring a large, deep-welled punch bowl and a matching flared pedestal base. The bowl is designed with a deeply scalloped rim and wide vertical flutes around the body. Centered within these flutes are frosted, circular medallions depicting historical motifs. One medallion features a heraldic eagle with a shield, holding an olive branch and arrows, with the characters 1 8 8 7 and three stars visible above the bird (Photos 4, 5, 6). A second medallion depicts the Liberty Bell (Photos 4, 7). The interior center of the bowl is decorated with a large, multi-pointed rayed starburst design. The separate pedestal base mirrors the design of the bowl with a fluted exterior and a coordinating scalloped foot. No maker’s names, signatures, or acid-etched marks are visible on either piece.
