Lot 234:
Description
A lead-glazed earthenware pitcher in the majolica style, featuring a bulbous body and a single D-shaped strap handle. The exterior is decorated with relief-molded foliate motifs, resembling oak leaves, encircling the scalloped rim and the base. The handle is finished in a deep translucent green glaze, which matches the foliate borders. The main body and interior are finished in a vibrant mustard-yellow glaze. The base features two incised characters, readable as a 3 and a 5 (photo 3). A partial white rectangular adhesive paper label is also present on the underside, though it bears no legible information (photo 3). No printed manufacturer names or backstamps are visible. Height: 6.5 inches.
