Description
An English Nigel Pain Products circular domed glass paperweight featuring a color print reproduction of a portrait of a young Queen Victoria. The subject is depicted in a black gown with a white lace Bertha collar against a red drapery background, reproducing a circa 1840 watercolor by the artist Aaron Penley. The printed image is encased under a thick, magnifying glass dome set within a thin metal rim with a brass-colored finish. The underside is finished with a green felt base. The base features two labels: a white rectangular paper label printed with QUEEN VICTORIA A. PENLEY c. 1840, and a gold-tone rectangular adhesive label printed with A NIGEL PAIN PRODUCT CORFE MULLEN DORSET, ENGLAND. Diameter: 3 inches.
