Description
This pair of Czechoslovakian crystal vases is crafted in the traditional Bohemian style using a ruby-stained and cut-to-clear technique. Each vessel features hand-blown clear glass coated in a red stain, which is then wheel-cut and acid-etched to reveal the clear crystal beneath. The decorative program consists of a classic forest motif including stags, castles, and stylized trees, framed by scrolling foliate patterns and a series of cut circular lenses around the upper rim. The larger vase has a flared trumpet-like profile, while the smaller vase features a waisted body with a bulbous lower section and a faceted foot. The smaller vase bears an original rectangular gold foil label with a black border, displaying a registered trademark symbol, the name Egermann in script, and the word CZECHOSLOVAKIA within a lower rectangular box. Both pieces have flat, polished bases. Height of large vase: 7 inches Height of small vase: 5 1/4 inches.
