Description
This hand-colored stipple engraving and etching is titled LA BARIERRE FRANCHIE. (The Jumped Barrier) and depicts an equestrian scene. The image features a rider wearing a traditional red hunting coat and black cap, seated on a galloping grey horse as it clears a rustic wooden rail fence. The composition is set against a muted landscape. The print displays a visible plate mark and fine stipple work used for tonal shading throughout the horse and rider.
