Description
A hand-embroidered linen runner in the style of a traditional Ukrainian rushnyk. The textile is composed of a cream-colored, loosely woven linen base. Both ends are decorated with hand-worked cross-stitch embroidery. The upper section of the decorated area features two central monograms in red thread, a stylized P and a stylized L, flanked by multi-colored floral sprigs. Below these monograms is a wide, dense border featuring repeating geometric and floral patterns executed in red, green, blue, yellow, and black thread. The piece is finished at both ends with long, hand-knotted macrame fringe.
