Description
This lot features three pieces of blue and white mottled enamelware, also known as agateware or graniteware. The items are constructed from steel with a fused porcelain enamel coating. The set includes a three-piece double boiler, a cylindrical milk pail with a lid, and a coffee pot. The double boiler consists of a lower water pot, a nesting upper pot, and a matching lid, each featuring black-coated metal handles. The milk pail features a wire bail handle and a separate metal lid with a fixed handle. The coffee pot has a tapering body, a gooseneck spout, a hinged lid with a ball finial, and a black-coated metal handle. The agate pattern is created by a swirled white enamel over a blue base coat.
