Description
A American cast iron skillet manufactured by the Griswold Manufacturing Company of Erie, Pennsylvania. This size No. 11 skillet features the large block logo trademark on the underside, which consists of a double circle enclosing a cross with the word GRISWOLD inscribed across the horizontal bar. The bottom of the pan includes the pattern number 717 near the handle and ERIE PA., U.S.A. arcing across the top. The size number 11 is positioned at the bottom center above the arced text CAST IRON SKILLET. The pan is constructed with two pouring spouts and a tapered handle featuring a teardrop-shaped hanging hole. The interior exhibits a smooth, milled cooking surface. Based on the specific trademark and markings, this piece dates to the production period between approximately 1920 and 1939.
