Description
14 in dia 11 in tall A Chinese export porcelain fish bowl of traditional form with a wide flared rim and tapering body. The exterior features alternating polychrome enameled panels within iron-red and gilded borders. Decoration includes birds among flowering peonies and fruiting branches depicting peaches, pomegranates, and Buddha’s hand citrons. The rim is decorated with a scrolling floral motif. The interior is enameled with iron-red goldfish swimming among green aquatic pond weed. The base is flat and unglazed, showing a single, small, indistinct orange-brown mark. .
