Description
This lot features a collection of three mid-twentieth-century American mechanical toys. Included is a Wolverine Adding Machine manufactured by the Wolverine Supply and Manufacturing Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The device is constructed of lithographed tin with a red top face and blue side panels. It features four vertical slider channels numbered one through nine and a four-digit totalizing window at the base. The face is marked with the Wolverine diamond logo and patent number 2243884. The second item is a Tom Thumb Cash Register produced by the Western Stamping Company of Jackson, Michigan. It is made of stamped metal with a red crinkle finish and a grey-finished cash drawer partitioned into four compartments. The unit features thirteen keys and pop-up indicator flags. The front panel label bears the Tom Thumb character illustration, patent number 1906361, and the manufacturer’s name. The third item is an Uncle Sam?s Store Register produced by the Durable Toy and Novelty Corporation. This lithographed tin register is finished in red with a black base and features five lever-style keys and a cash drawer. The side panels are decorated with black line illustrations depicting a child operating a register.
