Description

This lot comprises two vintage board games from the 1970s. The first is The MAD Magazine Game, manufactured by Parker Brothers. This humor-based game is based on the popular publication and features cover art by Jack Davis, whose signature is visible in the lower right corner. The illustration includes Alfred E. Neuman and other characters. The game objective is to lose all of your money, and the interior of the box lid includes humorous instructions and Rule Number 7. The second item is PanzerBlitz, a tactical-level battle-simulation wargame focusing on armored warfare on the Eastern Front from 1941 to 1945. It was produced by The Avalon Hill Company of Baltimore, Maryland, and carries a 1970 copyright. The front cover features tank silhouettes and states that PanzerBlitz is Avalon Hill’s trademark name for its World War II German/Russian tactical game. The back of the box displays multiple technical charts including Combat Results, Terrain Effects, Target Elevation, and Weapons Effectiveness, along with specifications for German and Soviet tanks such as the T-34/85, Panther, and Jagdpanther. Both games are constructed of printed cardboard and paper.
