Description
This lot features two vintage movie-themed jigsaw puzzles dating to the late 1970s. The first item is a 1976 King Kong jigsaw puzzle contained in its original cylindrical lithographed tin canister with a translucent plastic lid. The canister is decorated with graphics from the 1976 Dino De Laurentiis film and is marked King Kong Jigsaw Puzzle along with the French translation Casse-Tete. It bears the copyright mark 1976 Dino De Laurentiis Corporation. The second item is a 1977 Star Wars jigsaw puzzle featuring Han and Chewbacca, manufactured by General Mills Fun Group, Inc. (Kenner). The set is housed in its original cardboard box which indicates a total of 140 interlocking pieces. The box art depicts Han Solo and Chewbacca from Star Wars: A New Hope and includes copyright marks for Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. and General Mills Fun Group, Inc., dated 1977. Both puzzles utilize interlocking cardboard pieces.
