Description
This collection consists of four novelty lithographed tin containers featuring various advertising and popular culture themes from the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Included are two vehicle-shaped canisters from the Hershey’s Vehicle Series and two mini tin lunchboxes. The first item is a Hershey’s Chocolate Milk Truck canister, designated as Canister #1 in the Hershey’s Vehicle Series. It is constructed of lithographed tin and features a black and red color scheme with four functional rotating wheels. Markings on the underside identify it as a 2000 Hershey Foods Corporation product, manufactured in China. The second item is a Hershey’s Transit Co. Trolley canister, part of the same vehicle series. It is a light blue and red lithographed tin trolley car with eight rotating wheels. The bottom is marked Hershey’s Vehicle Series Canister Trolley, copyrighted 2000 by Hershey Foods Corporation, and made in China. The third item is a mini tin lunchbox featuring graphics from the classic Hasbro board game Operation. It includes a red plastic handle and a metal latch. The side panels are decorated with various game pieces and the text indicates a 1997 copyright by Hasbro, Inc., with distribution by A.S.C. of Lancaster, PA. The fourth item is a mini tin lunchbox titled Howdy Doody American History Album. It features a red plastic handle and metal latch, with the front showing Howdy Doody and friends in a classroom setting. Side markings indicate a 1998 copyright by National Broadcasting Company, Inc., part of Series #1 by A.S.C. of Lancaster, PA.
