Description
An assortment of various carved, polished, and natural decorative stones and fossils. The group features several heart-shaped specimens in a variety of materials and finishes. Included is a large heart-form made of a porous, purple-dyed stone, possibly lava rock or basalt. Another prominent heart is a sliced gray banded agate geode characterized by a central crystalline aperture. The collection also contains multiple smaller polished heart carvings in materials consistent with rose quartz, carnelian, labradorite, and citrine-toned quartz. Additionally, the group includes a carved butterfly-form stone with an iridescent surface and natural vugs, and a circular polished slice of petrified wood displaying defined growth rings and mineralized textures. No maker marks or signatures are visible. The pieces demonstrate multiple lapidary techniques including tumbling, carving, and flat-lap polishing.1.75 to 7 in in size
