These issues are oversized weekly pictorial magazines with staple-bound softcover construction. The collection includes the following specific issues: – March 3, 1961: Cover featuring Astronaut First Team members John Glenn, Gus Grissom, and Alan Shepard. – February 2, 1962: Cover featuring John Glenn in a space suit with the headline Making of a Brave Man. – March 2, 1962: Cover featuring John Glenn after his orbital flight with the headline The Glenn Story Nobody Saw. – March 9, 1962: Cover featuring John Glenn in a parade with the headline My Own Story of the Orbit by John Glenn. – June 18, 1965: Cover featuring Astronaut Edward White during the first American space walk. – October 25, 1968: Cover featuring the Apollo 7 launch and Wally Schirra. – January 17, 1969: Cover featuring Sirhan Sirhan with a secondary headline titled Our Journey to the Moon by Borman, Lovell, and Anders. – July 25, 1969: Cover featuring Neil Armstrong departing for the Apollo 11 moon mission. Most issues in this lot retain original white paper mailing labels affixed to the lower-left corner of the front cover, addressed to a recipient in Marshallville, Ohio. Several covers have brief handwritten notations in ink near the top masthead.
