Description
A Griswold Manufacturing Company American No. 8 cast iron waffle iron set featuring a high-frame base. The unit consists of two interlocking circular paddles and a deep-sided base designed with a wire bail handle. The interior of the paddles features a traditional square grid pattern. The paddles are equipped with cast iron shanks and wooden handle grips. The exterior of the paddles displays cast-in lettering and the manufacturer’s logo. Markings on the top arc read AMERICAN NO 8. The center features the Griswold cross-in-circle logo. The lower arc is marked THE GRISWOLD MFG. CO. ERIE PA. U.S.A. The bottom edge includes the patent date PATD DEC. 1. 1908. Individual paddles are marked with part numbers 314 and 315 near the hinge.
