Description
27 in tall 10.5 wide and 7in deep A mechanical wall clock manufactured by the Howard Miller Clock Company of Zeeland, Michigan. This model, identified on the rear instruction label as number 612-578 and known as the Le Sauterne, is housed in an oak wood case with a rich brown finish. The case features a decorative broken-arch pediment with a central carved floral and leaf motif. The front door is glazed with a glass panel that includes a screen-printed gold-tone floral design at the base. Glass panels are also present on the sides of the case to view the movement. The circular white dial features black Roman numeral hour markers and a railroad-style outer minute track. It is fitted with ornate black hour and minute hands and three winding arbors. The dial is marked Howard Miller with the company logo at center and Western Germany along the bottom edge. A chime selection lever is located at the three o’clock position with options for Silent, Whittington, St. Michael, and Westminster. The mechanical 8-day, triple-chime movement is accessed through a rear panel and is stamped with the code 81, indicating a 1981 production year. The movement plate is marked Howard Miller Clock Co. Zeeland, Michigan, No (0) Jewels, Unadjusted, Made in West Germany, and 1051-020. The clock is accompanied by its original T-bar winding key and an internal pendulum, which is currently secured with paper packing material. A wall-mounting bracket is attached to the upper rear of the case.
