Description
A two-piece vintage personal accessory set by the Evans Case Co., comprising a matched cigarette case and a matchbook holder with their original presentation box. Both pieces are constructed of nickel silver and feature an engine-turned linear pinstripe pattern on the exterior faces. The designs are finished with decorative floral and scrollwork borders and a central, unengraved diamond-shaped cartouche. The interiors of both items display a gold-tone circular engine-turned (perlage) finish. The cigarette case is equipped with a spring-loaded, T-shaped internal retaining bar and a thumb-latch opening mechanism. The matchbook holder includes internal clips and a small pendant loop at the top edge. The interior retaining bar of the cigarette case is stamped EVANS NICKEL SILVER. An internal clip in the matchbook holder is stamped NS over F Co. The set includes a dual-compartment hinged presentation box with a textured exterior covering and a velvet-lined interior.
