Description
This is a vintage portable tube-amplified phonograph manufactured by the V-M Corporation of Benton Harbor, Michigan. Designated as Model 1260, the unit is housed in a two-tone wooden case featuring a green and tan textured vinyl or Tolex covering. The front panel bears the branding "the Voice of Music" alongside a stylized VM logo, which is also repeated in the center of the interior lid. The turntable is an automatic record changer designed for 33, 45, and 78 RPM speeds. Control interfaces include two cream-colored rotary knobs on the front for volume and tone, as well as a function knob on the deck for Off, On, and Reject. The interior rear panel features printed specifications: UL MODEL 1260, 105-120 Volts, 40 Watts, 60 Cycles. It also includes service instructions for the internal tubes. Components include a black platter with a tall center spindle for stacking records, a black plastic tonearm with a flip-over stylus marked for 33-45, a clear plastic carrying handle, and metal latches.not tested
