Description
This lot comprises an assortment of vintage still banks constructed from molded glass, lithographed tin, vinyl, and glazed ceramic. Included in the group is a facial-form molded clear glass jar marketed as a Nash’s Lucky Joe Bank, which retains its original lithographed metal screw-top lid marked for Nash-Underwood, Inc. of Chicago. Also present is a lithographed tin globe bank produced by Schein and Company, featuring a coin slot at the North Pole and the printed text For God So Loved The World. A molded vinyl bank depicts the Big Boy restaurant mascot in red-and-white checkered overalls. A promotional black plastic reclining cat bank is marked Save With The Cat and Eveready, with the base embossed 1981 Union Carbide Corporation. The assortment is completed by two ceramic porcine banks: one decorated with pink rose floral transfers and gold luster accents on the ears and hooves, and a second cream-glazed bank featuring the transfer-printed seal of Erskine College.
