Description
This collection consists of an assortment of miniature glass bottles, jars, and small ceramic items. The glass components are featured in a variety of colors including cobalt blue, emerald green, amber, brown, and clear. A primary item is a clear glass Sloan’s Liniment bottle which retains its original paper label identifying the distributor as Standard Laboratories, Inc., New York. The label includes a portrait of Dr. Earl S. Sloan and lists active ingredients such as extract of capsicum, methyl salicylate, and oil of camphor. The bottle is fitted with a metal screw cap. The set includes several other identifiable glass pieces: a miniature 10mL Pyrex beaker marked MADE IN USA with a green circular logo, a cobalt blue glass bottle molded in a barrel shape with embossed ROOT BEER text, and an amber glass bottle embossed with HERRING’S. An emerald green glass bottle features a paneled architectural form. Also included is a small clear glass bottle containing a United States copper penny and several small jars and vials, some with original cork stoppers. The ceramic items comprise a small white porcelain pitcher featuring floral transfer decorations and gilt-painted handles, and a small white ceramic crock with a single handle.
