Lot 118:
Description
12 in dia An antique American three-light hanging pan chandelier dating to the early 20th century, approximately 1910-1925. The fixture consists of a circular metal pan suspended by three decorative chains from a matching ceiling canopy. Three individual lights are suspended from the underside of the pan via hook and loop attachments. The sockets are encased in metal husks, one of which includes a vintage-style thumb turn switch. The chandelier is fitted with three matching bell-shaped frosted glass shades. Each shade features a molded relief pattern of overlapping leaves or feathers and is decorated with applied pink floral accents. The metal components exhibit a dark, aged patina consistent with brass or brass-plated alloy. Inspection of the upper pan reveals the fixture has been rewired with modern two-strand plastic-insulated wiring and orange plastic wire nuts. There are no visible maker marks, labels, or stamps on the exterior surfaces of the canopy, pan, or sockets.
