Description
16 inches. A vintage industrial electric wall clock manufactured by the Stromberg Electric Co. of Chicago, Illinois. The circular case is constructed of black-painted metal. The off-white dial features bold black Arabic numerals, an outer minute track with diamond markers at five-minute intervals, and black-finished metal hands including a spade-shaped hour hand and a tapering minute hand. The dial is printed with the maker mark Stromberg Electric Co. Chicago, U.S.A. The interior movement was originally designed as an electric impulse slave clock for a master clock system and contains two solenoids with labels reading 10 Volts Stromberg Electric Co. Chicago. The movement has been retrofitted with a modern AC power adapter and additional electronic components to allow for independent operation on standard household power. A white electrical cord extends from the base of the case.
