Description
38 inches. This item is a decorative saber and matching scabbard, manufactured in India as a modern reproduction modeled after 19th-century European military patterns, such as the British P1821 light cavalry or artillery officer saber. The blade is constructed of steel and features acid-etched decorative scrollwork and floral motifs. The base of the blade is marked with the inscription MADE IN INDIA in capital letters. One side of the blade near the hilt features characters in a stylized script. The hilt assembly includes a three-bar guard made of a plated alloy or steel, a ribbed black grip, and a pommel cap secured by a modern hexagonal nut. The scabbard consists of a black leather or synthetic covering over a rigid body, fitted with a metal throat and chape.
