Description

This collection consists of several Egyptian-themed paintings executed in gouache and colored inks on handmade papyrus sheets, with some featuring metallic gold-colored highlights. The subjects depict traditional ancient Egyptian motifs: a profile of a royal female figure in an ornate headdress, the Eye of Horus (Wedjat) with hieroglyphic text, a seated pharaonic figure with cartouches, and matching scenes of a woman and child in a gesture of adoration. At least one papyrus sheet is marked on the verso with a red stamp for the Dr. Ragab Papyrus Museum in Egypt, featuring a scribe motif and hieroglyphs. This mark is signed H. Ragab in red ink with an Arabic signature beneath. Two of the smaller works are mounted on cardstock with printed borders. The collection includes a sheet with three identical color photographs of the Great Sphinx and a pyramid at Giza.
