Description
25×21.5 This pen and ink drawing on wove paper features a detailed illustration of a US military flight helmet and an MBU-5/P oxygen mask resting atop a topographic map. The helmet is inscribed with the name DANNELLY across the brow. The artist employs a precise technique, utilizing dense cross-hatching and stippling to create tonal depth, particularly on the reflective visor of the helmet and the textured surfaces of the gear. This composition served as the cover art for the 1979 album Screaming Targets by the Australian band Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons. The work is signed and dated in the lower right corner: D. KAHLER 75. It is presented in a black frame with a silver-toned inner lip and a black mat. A label for PIC-FRAME is affixed to the lower center of the backing paper.
