Description

7 inches. A Fenton Art Glass vase crafted in transparent teal blue glass, featuring hand-painted decoration in the Mary Gregory style. The vase has a baluster form with a flared rim and a pedestal foot. The pastoral scene is executed in opaque white enamel applied in low relief, depicting a young boy in a wide-brimmed straw hat seated on a split-rail fence. The scene includes a dog jumping toward the boy on the left and a rooster perched on a fence post to the right, all set beneath the branches of a stylized deciduous tree. The flared rim is finished with a dark glass edge. The underside of the base is hand-signed in white script: Nancy Sexton / hand painted by / P. Lauderman. Pat Lauderman was a recognized decorator for the Fenton Art Glass Company, known for painting their Mary Gregory revival lines. A small circular white sticker with a black stylized logo is also present on the bottom.
