Description
3.5 to 4 in tall. The Franklin Mint People of Colonial America series cast fine pewter figurines featuring a consistent dark grey patina. This pair includes one titled The Printer and one titled The Shoemaker. The Printer figurine depicts a standing male figure in colonial period attire working at an angled compositor’s desk containing a type-case with individual compartments. The Shoemaker figurine depicts a seated male figure in colonial dress working at a cobbler’s bench with various tools and shoes. Both figures are cast with integrated rectangular bases. The base of the first figure is incised on the underside with THE PRINTER, Fine Pewter, copyright 1974, and THE FRANKLIN MINT. The base of the second figure is incised on the underside with THE SHOEMAKER, Fine Pewter, copyright 1975, and THE FRANKLIN MINT. The bases are finished with circular green felt pads on the corners.
