Description
This antique railroad padlock was manufactured by the Slaymaker Lock Company for use by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad (B&O RR). The lock is constructed of iron or steel in a heart-shaped form with a pivoting shackle. The front face of the lock contains two recessed rectangular panels. The right panel is embossed with the letters B. & O. on the top line and R. R. on the bottom line. The left panel features the Slaymaker stylized S mark. The padlock is currently secured to a length of heavy-duty galvanized steel chain and a secondary, smaller rusted chain loop.
