Description
A set of eight vintage one-quart service station oil bottles presented in a heavy-gauge wire-frame carrying rack. This assortment represents a complete service station set used by attendants during the early to mid-20th century. The glass bottles feature various embossed text and regulatory weights and measures seals, including FILL TO LINE, ONE LIQUID QUART, APPROVED N.Y. H-28, PA SERIAL M-24, MASS O-S SEAL B-3-1 APPROVED, and a triangular MINN 5 A 4 mark. The set includes eight metal pour spouts of varying designs. One spout features an embossed oval for The Master MFG. CO. LITCHFIELD, ILL. with a patent date of September 14, 1926. A second spout is finished in red paint and is embossed for MOORE & KLING INC. BOSTON MASS. with the same patent date and a central MK logo. The carrier is constructed of wire with eight individual stalls and a central handle fitted with a coiled wire-spring grip. Carrier: approximately 19 inches L.
