Description
74 x 80 This is an American Grandmother’s Flower Garden patterned quilt, hand-pieced and hand-quilted. The design features a central flower motif that expands outward into large, concentric hexagonal rings. It is constructed from hundreds of individually hand-sewn cotton hexagon pieces. The color palette includes solid cottons in pink, yellow, light blue, purple, and white, accented by floral prints, including a dark floral calico and a lavender sprig print. The outer perimeter is finished with a scalloped edge that follows the natural geometry of the hexagonal pieces. The quilting is executed by hand with white thread, following the hexagonal shapes of the fabric to create a textured echo effect across the surface. The piece is finished with a solid off-white cotton backing and contains cotton batting.
