Description
30-32 sq. This lot consists of two vintage hand-quilted items: a large coverlet and a smaller decorative textile, likely a pillow sham or small throw. Both pieces are constructed from cotton fabric with cotton batting and feature extensive hand-stitching. The large coverlet is designed with a white center featuring whole-cloth style quilting with patterns including star motifs, clamshell, and diamond grid lines, finished with a solid light pink fabric border. The smaller decorative piece features a central mauve-colored applique in a stylized four-petal floral or pinwheel design, which is a variation of the Orange Peel pattern. This central design is surrounded by a matching mauve sawtooth applique border. Hand-quilting on the smaller piece follows the contours of the applique shapes.
