Lot 394:
Description
70 x 78 This vintage tied patchwork scrappy quilt is constructed from an assortment of printed cotton and blended fabrics. The design features various nine-patch and checkerboard pattern blocks arranged in a grid, separated by solid green and burnt orange sashing strips. The patchwork incorporates diverse motifs, including florals, geometric checks, and a nursery print depicting lambs. The quilt is finished on the reverse with a dark-ground fabric featuring a small-scale, light-toned circular floral print, accented by a large rectangular patch of mustard and brown paisley fabric at one corner. The piece is assembled using machine-sewn construction, with a visible zigzag stitch along the bottom edge, and is secured through the layers with hand-tied white and blue yarn or string knots visible on the face.
