Description
70 x 78 A vintage hand-pieced quilt top featuring the classic Double Wedding Ring pattern. The top is constructed from a wide variety of multi-colored scrap fabrics including cotton and synthetic blends in various prints such as florals, checks, plaids, stripes, and paisleys. These colorful rings are set against a solid coral-colored background fabric. The piece is in an unfinished state, consisting only of the hand-pieced top layer without batting or a backing fabric. The piecing is executed by hand with visible running stitches. Based on the style and specific prints of the fabrics used, this piece dates from the mid-to-late 20th century.
