Antiques Quilts and Toppers
Lot 342:
Sold for: $35
Description
62 x 74 This vintage American quilt top is hand-pieced from a wide variety of mid-century cotton fabrics, including printed calicos, feed sack florals, ginghams, and solid-colored scraps. The design is a variation of a Postage Stamp or Double Irish Chain pattern, organized into 25-patch blocks (5×5 squares) separated by a repeating diagonal chain of green floral-patterned squares. The assembly features small hand-sewn running stitches throughout, which are visible on the reverse side of the textile. This is an unfinished quilt top and does not include batting, a backing, or a finished edge.
