Description
60 x 72 A vintage American utility quilt top featuring hand-pieced patchwork blocks arranged in an on-point diamond pattern. The central section is framed by wide borders and a backing made from repurposed, unbleached cotton industrial sacks. The border material retains original stenciled commercial markings in black ink. Visible partial characters include rd Co., ORATED, V-S, S.A., LES-N, and WICE, indicating the fabric was salvaged from industrial product bags, likely for flour, feed, or sugar. The construction is that of an unfinished quilt top with raw, unhemmed edges. Has soiling, see pics.
