Description
80 x 92 This is a vintage American quilt top featuring the Grandmother’s Fan pattern. The piece consists of machine-pieced blocks joined together to form a larger textile, currently in an unfinished state without batting or backing. Each block contains a quarter-circle fan motif comprised of approximately six to seven tapered fabric segments in a variety of prints and solid colors. These segments include mid-20th-century textiles such as calicos, polka dots, stripes, checks, and small-scale florals, many of which are characteristic of 1930s to 1950s scrap fabrics or feed sacks. The fans are anchored by solid green or pink corner pieces and set against a solid lavender purple cotton or cotton-blend background. The construction shows consistent machine stitching.
