Description
72 x 78 This hand-pieced quilt top is constructed in a repeating pinwheel variation pattern composed of large half-square triangles. The textile is made from two distinct cotton fabrics: a solid pale pink and a cream-colored fabric featuring a small, repeating black diamond or lozenge print. The central field is bordered by a narrow strip of the printed fabric and a wider outer band of the solid pink fabric. The reverse side features exposed seam allowances, indicating that the piece remains an unfinished quilt top and lacks a middle layer of batting or a backing fabric. The piece is attributed to the United States, dating from the early to mid-20th century.
