Description
72 x 82 This is a vintage American hand-pieced and hand-quilted cotton textile. The quilt features a graphic red and white color scheme in a "Hearts and Gizzards" pattern, which is a traditional geometric variation involving intersecting pieced rings with four-patch squares at each junction. This design creates almond-shaped white central segments throughout the field. The quilt is finished with a decorative scalloped edge along the perimeter. Construction details include fine, irregular hand-stitching that follows the geometric forms of the pattern, including diagonal gridwork within the small squares and echoing stitch lines within the white segments. The textile is composed of cotton fabric and contains internal batting.
