Description
82 x 88 This hand-pieced and hand-quilted patchwork quilt is designed in the traditional Sunshine and Shadow pattern, a variation of the Trip Around the World design. The central field is composed of small fabric squares, approximately 2 inches each, arranged in concentric diamond bands. The color palette features a variety of solid-colored fabrics including teal, forest green, chocolate brown, mauve, dusty rose, lavender, deep purple, navy, and black. This central patterned field is set within a wide, solid medium-blue border that includes contrasting light-blue corner blocks. The quilting follows a diagonal cross-hatch pattern across each individual square. The reverse side is finished with a lavender calico-style printed fabric featuring a small, repeating white geometric motif. The quilt is finished with a dark blue hand-stitched binding. Materials appear to be cotton or a cotton blend.
