Description
68 x 76 This mid-20th century coverlet is constructed from a white, textured woven cotton or cotton-linen blend fabric. The piece is composed of three vertical panels joined by visible seams. The central decorative element is a large floral bouquet featuring purple and lavender flowers with yellow embroidered centers. Some petals are formed through fabric applique, while others are defined by embroidery. This central spray is tied with a white fabric appliqued bow and ribbon tails. Six smaller, individual white flower motifs with yellow centers and yellow-green leaves are positioned symmetrically on the side panels. The entire perimeter is finished with a hand-crocheted or tatted lace trim. One small area is patched and multiple stained areas.
