Description
74 x 94 A vintage unfinished quilt top featuring the Grandmothers Fan pattern. The textile is composed of twenty square blocks arranged in a four-by-five grid. Each block displays a pieced fan motif in one corner against a white fabric background. The fans are constructed from a variety of scrap fabrics including floral calicos, solids, and small-scale geometric prints in a palette of purple, green, yellow, pink, and blue. Each fan segment radiates from a solid peach-colored fabric base. The blocks are connected by aqua green sashing with white cornerstone squares and the entire assembly is finished with a matching aqua green border. The pieces are machine-stitched together.
