Description
60 x 80 This lot features double sided vintage, handmade patchwork tied quilt constructed from an assortment of fabric remnants, including cotton and poly-cotton blends. The first side is characterized by large, irregular blocks of solid pink, mint green, and dark green. It incorporates a central vertical strip with a botanical and avian motif, alongside a novelty fabric panel depicting early American ceramic motifs. This novelty print includes text such as BONE CHINA, PLYMOUTH, U.S. POTTERY NEW JERSEY, and Fenton’s Works Bennington Vermont. The second side exhibits a busier arrangement of smaller patches, featuring various ginghams, stripes, floral patterns, and a bold mid-century modern geometric print. Both sides are finished with yellow yarn ties distributed across the surface to secure the layers. The textile remnants include prints in the style of manufacturers such as Waverly and Schumacher, notably patterns resembling Waverly Somerset Hall and Schumacher Barnet Cotton Check.
