Antiques Quilts and Toppers
Lot 176A:
Description
48 x 84 This textile is an unfinished quilt top featuring the Drunkard’s Path pattern, composed of repeating hand-pieced quarter-circle curved segments. The construction utilizes alternating sections of solid pink cotton fabric and a cream-colored cotton fabric featuring a small-scale floral print of pink roses and blue flowers. The item consists only of the pieced upper layer, lacking batting, backing, and quilting. Hand-stitched seams with visible allowances and loose threads are apparent on the reverse side. The floral print and color palette are characteristic of American textile production from the mid-20th century.
