Lot 22:
Description
This lot features two lithographed metal advertising serving trays. The first is a commemorative item issued in 1997 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Campbell’s Condensed Soup. The front displays a central graphic of a Campbell Kid character holding two cans of tomato soup representing labels from 1897 and 1997. The tray is finished with a wide black border. The mustard-yellow reverse contains a printed history of the anniversary, the Campbell’s logo, a barcode, and text stating "Tray Issued 1997" and "MADE IN USA." The second tray is a Coca-Cola advertising piece featuring the 1946 Sailor Girl artwork. The graphic depicts a woman in a white sailor hat and blue dungarees seated on a wooden dock with a glass contour bottle. It includes a red banner with the text Drink Coca-Cola Delicious and Refreshing and a red and white pinstriped rim. The reverse features a grey, textured industrial finish with no visible maker’s marks.
